I am on Linux Mint 19 Tara cinnamon and I need help please, I need to add screen resolution of 1920x1080 as a permanent option, I know how to go into terminal and do the following steps, 1. Cvt 1920 1080, 2. Xrandr –newmode, 3.xrandr -addmode VGA-1. I have the same issue. I have a Toshiba 5105-S701 laptop (1600x1200 LCD) and I'd like to output 1366x768 resolution on VGA. Downloaded 84.25, replaced nv4dsp.inf, installed, rebooted, got blue screen, learned you can't use 80 series with 5100 laptops. Talking about equivalents, you can go the other way around and scale 1366x768 down, until it matches 1920x1080 but this isn't permitted by default by the Windows DPI to go down (only up) and faking it this way wouldn't look as sharp since you lack all the pixels: it wouldn't be a native resolution, it's a scaled version.

A lot of people I play Enemy Territory with have been contemplating switching to a version of the program called ET Legacy, and their reasoning is generally related to screen resolutions.

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory is a very old game, and the designers never conceived that it would ever be played on a 1920×1080 screen resolution, so it was never coded to have that option in the Video Settings.

That being said, you can make a few modifications to your launcher shortcut, and run Enemy Territory at true native 1920×1080 resolution.

Note: The only glitch I’ve encountered with this so far, is that when you’re changing video settings in the game, the game will not revert back to 1920×1080 without a game restart after a settings change (such as texture quality, dynamic lighting, etc changes). So, go set your quality levels for textures and everything prior to modifying your shortcut, then you should avoid encountering any of those issues.

LinuxMac: You can use similar command switches on Linux or Mac to achieve this goal, but the process of editing the shortcutlauncher may vary.

Right click your Enemy Territory shortcut, and hit Properties.

You’ll want to add these options to your shortcut:
(com_hunkmegs is not related to the video settings, but a few extra hunkmegs will help your game performance.)

You can do so by adding them after the trailing quotation mark surrounding your program name, as show in the following screenshot:

My full shortcut application path is as follows, since it’s not entirely visible above. (The “Target” box above).

And there you have it! Next time you launch Enemy Territory, you should be presented with a full screen 1920×1080 gaming experience. Enjoy!

Hi there
I am on Linux Mint 19 Tara cinnamon and I need help please, I need to add screen resolution of 1920x1080 as a permanent option, I know how to go into terminal and do the following steps,
1. Cvt 1920 1080,
2. xrandr –newmode,
Windows3.xrandr --addmode VGA-1,
After these steps the resolution is there and I am able to select it from the options and it works but then when I restart the PC the option is gone, so I need help to basically add this option permanently to the machine so that when you switch the machine off and on the resolution option remain, I have tried from other forums the following but it didn't work,
1.Alt+Ctrl+F1 (switch to console mode)
2.Login by typing user name and password
3.sudo service lightdm stop (For Mint 12 Lisa users) or sudo service mdm stop (For Mint 13 Maya users)
4.sudo X -configure (generates new xorg.conf file)
I do not get the xorg.conf file or if its there I cant find it.How to get 1920x1080 resolution on 1366x768 screen computer
